I believe that the welfare/medicaid/food stamp/WIC/government housing, etc. are all just a different form of slavery. The cycle has got to be broken, money needs to be invested in daycare for the young mothers so that they may complete their education; there needs to be more grant money available for those that truly desire a better life and realize that through an education, a better life is possible. I believe that glory is fleeting. America has fallen and will fall if we do not unite together. Our separate voices have not heard the call of John Winthrop, who beseeched that we should "labor and suffer" together. The binds that have bound us for so many years have been loosened; it is up to us to strengthen those ties again. In our divided world, we can only hope that leaders will emerge in our towns and principalities who will stand up for the right, and whose lives will encourage others to seek a similar path.

Lorraine W., Birmingham

I believe the whole point of being alive is to evolve into the person you were born to be.
Mandy, Birmingham

I believe that there is a reason for everything that happens and as we grow older and wiser, we understand that reason. Every experience in our life is a learning experience and we must apply it to our lives. I have learned just as much from dummies and idiots as I have from professors and wise people. The former teach me what not to do and the latter teach me what to do. If I could sum up life in one word it would be "balance". We have good and bad, there is right and wrong, love and hate, sadness and happiness - we have to balance all these things and learn from each one.

I believe all should realize and understand that believing with ignorance, lacking wisdom, regarding the subject of one's belief, alone, can be dangerous!
